ABOUT US

“Voice Your Diversity” is een project waarbij zangers met diverse culturele achtergronden samen zingen als een koor en op een podium. In samenwerking met Notches (koor van ‘t Werkhuys), zullen we zangers uit Borgerhout en Antwerpen uitnodigen om de traditionele liederen en stemmen van Colombia, Senegal en Marokko te ontdekken. Door het samenkomen van verschillende muziekstijlen, talen, repertoire en de specifieke manieren van vocale technieken, zal de uitvoering een verkenning zijn van de creativiteit, nieuwsgierigheid en rijkdom van muziekculturen en timbres.

"Voice Your Diversity" is a project of singers from different music cultures and artistic levels performing together as one choir on one stage. In collaboration with Borgerhout-based Koor Notches, the project invites singers living in Borgerhout and Antwerp to discover the traditional songs and voices of Columbia, Senegal and Morocco. Converging different musical styles, languages, repertoire, and the particular ways of vocal techniques, the performance will be an exploration into the creativity, curiosity and richness of musical cultures and timbres.
